COURSE DESCRIPTION


An Introduction to Digital Cinema

A foundational study covering the principles of digital filmmaking with an emphasis on video recording and formats, digital compression and file systems, production planning, story and script, cameras and lenses, sound recording, lighting techniques and tools, composition and shooting practices, nonlinear editing, sound mixing, color correction, special effects, postproduction, legal considerations, distribution, and financing strategies.


The course consists of lectures, screenings, and demonstrations with supervised exercises, instructional videos, outside reading, class discussions, and reflective writing assignments.
