Foundations of Public Speaking: Methods, Dynamics, and Qualitative Change

A comprehensive course covering the fundamental concepts of speechmaking combined with instructional practice in delivering winning presentations. Classes are friendly and supportive, and take on a workshop-like setting. Students are given the freedom and security to grow, and led to identify individual differences that are shaped and developed into a personal communication style. Presentations are made with and without supporting materials. A variety of speech types are explored and delivered. Both in-class and outside instruction will be available to familiarize students with Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, as well as other multimedia programs students chose to use during the course for visual aids.
